Re: Saturday football
West Ham is, first and foremost, a football club and one that gets 60,000+ attendances… any other PL club that gets those types of attendance would be rightly so downgrading the Europa Conference and expecting better cup wins from there.

What is cringeworthy is we have a large chunk of our support who are willing to take that as our pinnacle win for the next decade…..you shouldn’t ….as we gave away our ground and pretty much let our history be marketed by what would have been called a spiv in times when we had some pride in what and where we were from.

Re: Saturday football
Would that be the great Metz team that finished 10th out of 18 teams in the great French league, and then finished 11th?

The Intertoto was just a qualifying tournament. We were just unfortunate that fifth place wasn’t enough to qualify automatically.

I don’t really understand the disdain from fans about the Conference League. Unless you are a Man City, Liverpool or maybe Chelsea fan, why would you turn your nose up at it? It sounds like you’ve been brainwashed by the media.

A made up European trophy for the also-rans?

We finished 5th (FIFTH) to qualify for the Intertoto Cup, and beat Metz in the final who were a very good team at the time.

We finished 7th (SEVENTH) to qualify for the Conference League, and beat Fiorentina in the final, who are a mediocre mid table club in what is now a pretty pony league.

Apples = Apples

ArsenaLOL.

Melting again when the going gets tough. I bet city can’t believe their luck.

If we are going to shit the bed I might as well take some schadenfreude in them and Liverpool also doing similar.

Calling the European trophy we won the Intertoto Cup is the biggest cringe. If you can’t appreciate us winning something you may as well not bother.

You are the biggest cringe on here, wd40.

As much as it's great to see Arsenal fuck up, stop embarrassing yourself. No proper player wants to play under ginger bollocks, regardless of our Intertoto Cup win.

Leverkusen win the title. Breaking Bayern run. And Arsenal and Liverpool both handing Man City a massive advantage. So today ain’t been a total disaster.

Re: Saturday football
Villa have been excellent
Noticed a couple of Arsenal players pulling out of tackles ... didnt fancy it
Plus Saka again missing when needed

Advantage Man City

Back in City's hands, win their remaining games and they are champions for the 4th year running.

The only joy I’m getting from the football today is Liverpool losing at home and Arsenal just going 0-1 down at home.

Re: Saturday football
Watched the last 25 mins at Arsenal & Villa have battered them
Goal from Bailey ... 1-0 Villa

Both Liverpool & Arsenal have gone SPURSY
As Spurs did themselves

Re: Saturday football
The problem with Chelsea is that you dont know what team is going to turn up they have 4 games they should easily win.... plus a couple they could so we shouldn't write them off..

I think 8th is as high as we can get now and it might not be enough... gotta hope Man U screw up along the way which they are pretty capable of.

Re: Saturday football
I'm probably alone, but I would prefer no European football than the option of playing shit teams on the conference
